Cork Flooring
Cork Flooring is a completely natural product and therefore friendly to our environment. It is the best natural product for sound installation available, as it actually absorbs ambient sound and reduces general noise, making for a calmer interior atmosphere. It is also suitable for people with allergies as it resists the growth of mildew, mold and bacteria. Cork Flooring naturally insulates heat and cold hence it is warm under foot. Cork is very durable, and can be easily repaired if damaged, hence its long life. The Library of Congress has Cork Floors and there is a church in Chicago which had Cork Flooring installed in 1890 that is still in use today.
Cork contains suberin which is a waxy substance that is impervious to liquids and gasses, therefore Cork will not rot. Most insects including termites will not go near Cork Floors due to its composition it acts as a natural barrier against insects.
Cork Flooring is also naturally hyproallergenic as it does not produce any irritants or contain harmful chemicals.
Cork also has a natural ability to 'bounce back'. For instance when pressure is released, for example a high heel shoe, the Cork will snap back very quickly to its original shape.
Cork is also an economical flooring choice and with a large variety of patterns, colors and style it is an excellent choice. It will also compliment your existing carpet or tile flooring.
